Action Plumbing, Gas & Drainage was founded in 2003 by Managing Director Daniel Board. Daniel trained in Hertfordshire, England. Upon completing his training, gaining level 2 & 3 City and Guilds, and Corgi Registration in England, he created his own business, servicing the London area. It was in London when he was called to a plumbing job for a lovely Kiwi lady and that turned out to be the start of a new and exciting venture. Shelley became his wife and Daniel returned with Shelley to Christchurch in 2002.

Daniel became registered as a master plumber and gas fitter in New Zealand. He worked for another plumbing company for a year, where he identified the potential and opportunity for growth within the industry. Daniel believed he had the traits needed to develop a successful business and to be an innovative business leader. Daniel also believed he had the skill, vision and drive to build a successful company from scratch and turn his entrepreneurial dream into a reality.
